This is straight-up rich, sweet-smelling buttery sandalwood and mystery notes all up in your face. Misk Shoppe surprised me on this one. They went back to the hood....Straight outta the great state of Karnataka, Mysuru India..HOLLABACK. They list the notes as Mysore Sandalwood, spices amber, musk, and woods. I think they had fun with this as you have to solve the puzzle of whats in here. Whatever it is it smells fantastic. Of course its sandalwood but I'm guessing the amber is White Amber Extreme, White Musk Maliki (Royal), some nutmeg and cardamon and possibly some cedar or sandlewood from Tamil :) So, what you get here is a forest effect like the smell you encounter in the late afternoon. However this is not any typical forest with pine smell and conifers. This is straight-up wood. If you have ever visited the California forests with the giant Sequoia trees you get what Forest Sandaliya is about. You can easily associate this with Maison Margiela's By the Fireplace but the rawness and sophistication of freshly cut sandalwood chips and or sandalwood powder defines this. But, it still manages to be a wearable perfume. You get the best of both worlds here; high grade sandalwood oil that is sold by the Tola ranging from $100 - $1,000 with added mystery notes you can wear as a fragrance. Like Johnny Cash, Forest Sandaliyah walks that line. The sillage and projection is amazing. Alot of woodyness goes on with this foolwed by warm spices and enveloping amber + musk. It is very fresh, moist and cooling but very powerful. Performance is exceptional. You can wear this by itself or layer it with "blue" or "Aquatic" perfumes to add depth. I layered this with Mish Shoppes Silver Mountain Water, Pegasus , Y Intense , Erba Pura, Blue De Chanel and Velvet Zafferano. BEASTMODE PROJECTION
