Animalique goes where Rosendo Mateu No 5 and Tom Ford's Eau D'Ombre they didn't go. Instead of a a sweet and powdery suede presence, Animalique goes a little spicy, earthy and ambery if that makes sense. Somehow the vanilla has more presence and depth as it mixes in with the 'dirtyness' of the amber-musk combo. The experience here is a Dirty Clean. It's smoother, cleaner, sexier, potent, and even boozier with a slight whiff of aged scotch whiskey. This is the closest thing to a smooth liqeuer as you're gonna get but with the sweetness toned down. You see, Animalique takes those rough edges of the suede aspects of Eau D'ombre and Mateu No.5 and makes it into a suede like POWDER. Kind of like a talcum powder but not really. Animalique is sheer brilliance. It is an extremely polished version of a niche musk scent that wants an animalic effect without offending people. This is perfect. The animalic note is more like the creamy nuget and peanuts in a Snickers bar minus the sweet caramel. Earthy amber takes the place of the caramel with a Scottish whiskey like vanilla. With Animalique you can enjoy being clean and dirty at the same time. It seems like Animalique has a pheromone effect due to it's animalic sophistication. It is very elegant and primal. You will get compliments with this as the sillage will capture the attention of people passing by, while the projection is enormous. Animalique is loud but it's very elegant. Getting back to the potency, this is a 10 out of 10. This will last 10+ hours and project beyond an arm's length for hours. The quality in this is superb.
